About Quilled Keepsakes

I started quilling over 25 years ago.  Someone gave me a gift of quilling and I was stunned by the beauty of it and shocked that I had never seen anything like it in all my years of crafting!  I went out immediately and tried to find quilling supplies and directions.  It turned out to be quite a task!  I ended up finding one book at my library and using a simple needle for my first tool.  Over the years I have found a few suppliers and once in a while a craft store nearby will carry a little quilling paper for a short time.

I found that cutting my own paper comes in quite handy when trying to match colors for weddings.  The store bought papers only come in certain shades.  By now, I have quite a collection of paper cut into thin strips and everyone who comes to my house ends up asking “what is that for”? Quilling is a very time consuming craft.   I love the small details in the miniatures and trying to make the flowers look real on wedding invitations! I also love to make tatted lace and play my guitar and spend time with my three beautiful kids and wonderful husband.
